The Effective Parent Program
Dear Parents,
Think of the following and please answer yes or no:
- Your family enjoys a pleasant evening meal at your dining table.
- Your evening from 4 pm to bedtime is enjoyable and relaxing.
- Bedtime and evening routines run smoothly without complaint. Homework time is a breeze.
- Your children eagerly assist with chores and are respectful and helpful.
- Your children are well-mannered and respect property and others' personal space and belongings.
- Your children always keep their hands and feet to themselves.
- You have been able to go out on a date with your spouse or significant other in recent months.
- You very rarely have to raise your voice in your house.
- You always have time for yourself.
If you answer "no" to any of these statements, Professional Education and Respite Service Inc. (PERS) has a different answer for you!
"The Effective Parent" is an in-home special service program offered through PERS, a leader in working with families of children with special needs in Northern Virginia.
Any parents of typical or atypical children who feel that they have lost control of their children and have succumbed to inappropriate behaviors, or may feel their parental effectiveness is slipping away can benefit from our service.
We assist parents in recapturing control of their household and significantly reducing and eliminating problematic behaviors.
PERS was founded by Jesse A. Kushner, M.Ed. Mr. Kushner is a 33 year veteran and Master Level Special Education Behavior Specialist who has worked with children with the most challenging behaviors in residential facilities, public schools, and in private homes. The techniques he and his staff use can be effective with any family.
PERS will provide a two day (eight total hours) intensive hands-on program including observation, discussion, and modeling, culminating in a personalized written plan summarizing key points and strategies. An optional two week return consultation visit is offered.
Using PERS strategies will have you answering YES to the above questions in a few weeks time. The cost is only $80.00 per hour.
