Letters of Recommendation, Continued
November 16, 2006
It is with great pleasure that we write this letter of recommendation for Jesse Kushner, the President of Professional Education and Respite Service, LLC. Mr. Kushner came to us at a time when we were desperate for assistance with our son David. David is fifteen years old and has been diagnosed with Autism and was recently and untimely released from a residential facility. We were in a tough spot as David needs 24 hour supervision and this move put our family and our local school division in a bad position.
While the school division searched for a new residential facility for our son, we were in need of in-home supports as David’s exhibits numerous challenging behaviors and demands our complete attention. Mr. Kushner and his service came recommended to us by our local CSA coordinator, and we are forever grateful for the two months of intensive service he provided. Jesse is a very kind, warm, and genuine individual who very quickly put us at ease. He truly understands the needs of children with special needs and the needs and difficulties the parents of these children face on a daily basis. He is extremely knowledgeable and was able to give us some very practical and easy to implement solutions that helped both David and his family. David took to Mr. Kushner very well, and they spent many days practicing daily life skills out in the community. They went every where together, and when they returned Jesse would sit down with us and explain the strategies he attempted and what was effective and how we might be able to implement them ourselves.
We are sure that many parents of children with special needs would agree, it is very difficult to open up our homes to individuals who provide in-home services and therapies. We can easily feel very vulnerable, exposed, and guilty for feeling that we are unable to raise a child without some type of assistance. However, there are some people who are naturally warm, inviting, real, and can easily fit in to a family situation. These individuals can put you at ease and make you feel that they truly understand and are on your side. Jesse Kushner is one of these kind and gentle souls that truly know how to handle difficult to manage children. He also knows how to work as a team member with a family and empowers them to do what they are capable of doing without imposing idealistic recommendations that sound wonderful but are not realistic and practical. Mr. Kushner is truly a compassionate professional that has warmed our hearts and helped us through a tremendously difficult time.
Our son is now at a new residential placement. We are happy that he is doing well, and when he comes home for his visits we know due to the efforts of Mr. Kushner we will be better equipped to handle the inevitable difficulties that our loving but very challenging son brings. We are indebted to Jesse for his commitment to our family. We highly recommend him to any family that needs assistance with their special needs child. Please contact Mr. Kushner directly if you would like to speak to us personally about our experiences.
Sincerely,
John and Melanie H.
