As parents of a five-year-old boy with Down Syndrome who have employed Jesse Kushner for several months as a private tutor, we heartily recommend his services. He and his staff have worked with our son for two hours a week, every week, and his diligence and teaching methods are clearly paying off as Connor already is reading simple, short books and making progress in strengthening other cognitive skills. In doing so, Jesse has shown a great deal of patience and innovation in developing methods which have facilitated Connor's learning.We've been particularly impressed with his emphasis on teaching reading using a combination of phonics and sight word exercises. Also key to Connor's ability to learn, we think, has been the staff’s focus on making learning fun.
